Is shopify still the best for ease of use, simple processing and good presentation.

As in title it is going to be a fairly high end shopfront for an evolution of my business.

I would still say yes to hgh-end.

I recently moved away from Shopify in fairness for a more simple way of managing items (and stock) on my website and various other selling platforms such as Ebay. Shopify can do these things but they are all "bolt-ons" and apart from being messy get very expensive too. That being said I sell low-Medium end items and aimed at teens/young adults.

For a hosted shop yes. BigCommerce volusion or square space are worthy competitors wooCommerce is free if you are using WordPress but I guess you aren't.

If you’re happy with off the shelf builds, I guess so.

Realistically, yes I’ll use/ buy a design and go off the shelf initially. But if I wanted bespoke are you suggesting a different platform or complete custombuild?

Start with Shopify so you can focus on your business, you may well outgrow it but cross that bridge when you come to it.

Number of products/variants is the key. If you have only 50 products and are happy using a payment gateway then building a site from the ground-up is easy. Totally tailored and easy for you to change.

More products/variants points towards a hosted solution or Magenta, depends on your offer's USP; product or that you can buy this product on-line.

The other kicker is re-marketing, an area custom solutions are normally weak.

I find BigCommerce a better solution VS Shopify now.
