Just looking for some advice on a debt that is owed to my company by a company i carried out work for.

Short story, Was contacted to diagnose and repair a specialist item. Did the job all good and working again. Customer paid a call out fee the day before i attended but the total bill was close to £1500 due to parts required.

Gave customer standard 30 days to pay but they didn't.
Sent friendly email followed by letter. All tracked so proof etc.

All ignored.

So started a Claim via money claim that went to sending in the bailiffs.
Today i received a letter from the county court bailiff stating that they have attended the address and the debtor is not trading from there and they cant do any more.

Companies house shows the debtor still active, and still at the address.
There website shows the address as does there Facebook page and google.

The address is a large commercial building on an industrial estate so not a tiny office and very large vehicle fleet all with the debtors name plastered all over them.

So i'm quite stumped as to how the bailiff has not been able to do anything.

Just wondering what steps to take next?

Are there any other ways to find a different address? Google only comes back with the one i have already.

Any advice would be appreciated.

This company will get you paid quickly.

I’ve a feeling that the M.D. is a PHer.

Either way, efficient, cost effective.

The first letter will get you reimbursed.

Not since i started the county court claim.
They are over 80 miles away so not as easy as just nipping by to look.

So what have they said when you spoke to them? Anyway, looks like the link above is worth a shot.

Nothing, originally when i called to query the late payment i was told they didn't have the OK to pay the invoice from the MD. Each call after i was just fobbed off that the MD was not available or out.

All letters and emails from me and the County court have been ignored.

The link above only seems to offer to do what i have already done. Taken them to court won but now i still haven't been paid.

Where are their premises?

Maybe a PH'er could drive by and check they still exist?

Which bailiff firm have you used? I'd be surprised if any bailiff firm came back saying the company was no longer there if it was.

Move it up to high court baillifs, far more effective

Court Bailiffs are not particularly motivated, as your debt is over £600 (IIRC) you can upgrade it to a High Court action via a writ of Fi Fa, and instruct private bailiffs - the likes of the Sherrif's office as you've seen on TV. They add their own costs of course.

First off, do some leg work though to ensure you're not throwing good after bad - are they still the same legal entity? Has there been anything in the gazette regarding the ltd co you sued?

Sorry for the Delay in replying tot his thread. Busy with work as usual.

How do i now transfer this to the high court? Any links would be great.

I have been googling it but all i seem to get are what appears to be private firms offer to do it for me. is there a more direct way? Have been looking on money claim too and i cant seem to find an option to escalate.

The company is still active on companies house but the director has now resigned. But no sign of the company been wound up.
