Hi guys

Looking some advice from the experts, a company that oves us a small sum (under a grand) has flagged as
having had a winding up hearing in decemebr (debt predates this).

Is there any way to find out the result and what actually happens from here? We didnt spot it to lodge a claim at the time but
I wouls have an interest in purchasing some of the company assets if it was wound up.

Its a first for me as its an unusual scenario in our industry

thanks as always

Have you checked what is showing at Companies House?

Do you know what type of winding up is being followed (voluntary? creditors?)

Were notices issued in The Gazette flagging up that a winding up was being instigated?

Creditors, such as you, are entitled to block a winding up if you are owed money. However, you have to apply to stop a winding up order being processed within set time limits. The problem is that people don't always monitor the businesses they do business with and don't spot the legal notices that are put in place about such things as winding up - and consequently miss the deadlines for submitting blocks to the winding up.

We hadn't the company on our monitoring list with experian and we only reset credit limits quarterly so hands up we
missed it.

This is what was listed in the gazette

Petition to wind up the above-named company XXXX Limited of XXXX, presented on Friday XX October 2017, by XXXXXXX, claiming to be a creditor of the Company, will be heard at the High Court of Justice, Rolls Building, Fetter Lane, London EC4A 1NL on (first 14 days of ) December 2017 (or as soon thereafter as the Petition can be heard).

I've obscured some info just to mask the company if that ok

Looks like its a Creditor's Winding Up so you may have missed the boat on this one. Has a liquidator been appointed. If so, you could contact them.

Companies House.

You can get basic details of any company - including if it's in liquidation.
