I have a car listed on eBay at the moment, as an auction. It has a decent amount of bids on it already after less than 24 hours.

Someone has messaged me and asked to come and look at it, which I said was fine in my listing, and it is. However, eBay are now saying I can't give them my contact details, including my address! They say they scan the messages and will block them or restrict my account if I give the details. I've tried online chat with them but the humanbot just trots out their script and cannot/will not listen to my points and queries. They say "oh, if they win then you can give them your details and they can come and look at it then". Yeah right, and dcide it's not what they want and put me back to square 1.

How the hell do I get round that?

That's probably what I'll have to do. Luckily the prospective bidder sent me their number and that got through so I am in touch with him - although I'll have to wait to see whether eBay scan and note that and have a hissy fit.

I had the same recently,

Had my account suspended for a week as a chap sent me a pic with his phone no on it.

Classified ads are ok to leave your contact details on.

Nothing. Nothing at all. I wasted my time, bandwidth, keyboard wear and tear, and most importantly, all of those things of yours, for absolutely no reason at all.

Sorry about that.
