Is a suppliers address required on an invoice?
Discussion
I have a graphics guys who is doing some work for us on a self employed basis. He’s doing a one off (as far as I know currently) piece of work.
He doesn’t want to put his address on his invoice as he’s works from home when working outside his normal job.
Is it OK for an invoice to be presented to my company without the suppliers address?
Gov UK website states an address is required if he is using a trading name.

This is the link to the government website page that I read.

I would not consider an "invoice" that is missing basic details such as the trader's proper name and address as a properly "legal" invoice.
The HMRC site does list the core essentials of what should be on an invoice and the extra information required if the trader is VAT registered.
Placing a web address only on an invoice is not sufficient under current law.

Why doesn't he want to put his address on the invoice?
On a side-note, When buying anything online, I always check the website / "Business" has a reall address and phone number on their contact page.
There is absolutely no way I'm paying for any sort of product or service if nothing is stated, or if it's a PO box.

But it might just be a serviced office. Would you think this address passes your test? There is absolutely no way I'm paying for any sort of product or service if nothing is stated, or if it's a PO box.

No.Statutory requirement for a contact address, it can be registered office, accountant, etc.

Whilst P.O. boxes may be frowned upon; there are plenty of mailbox providers who will give a good address and I find that acceptable.
If the person has gone through the trouble of booking and paying for a mailbox, that’s fine with me. Again, people can use their accountants address.
I can understand people not wanting to put their home address out there. Some may find that strange but they have to accept that others like their privacy, and to keep Home / work life seperate. That includes giving out Home addresses to random people / companies / accounts dept’s.
