We use it for a couple of client websites and it's been great, does exactly what it says on the tin. Downsides are having to wait 7 days for them to send you the money. If you are doing any kind of volume speak to their sales team as you can negotiate price breaks / tiered pricing with them.

A client of mine uses it, pretty easy to set up and run but you don’t get paid for seven days.

Thanks chaps, they never mentioned the 7 day thing. I'll see if this is negotisble.
They don't do porn, Meds or vapes sadly (who does apart from Amazon payments!)

From a developers point of view Stripe is great.

Easy to integrate including subscriptions if you need them, and great documentation. Nice UI for customers too and payments can be as simple as card number, expiry date and cv2 in a JS modal. No crappy hosted pages, redirections, 3d secure roadblocks etc.

You can sign up and get started literally in few minutes, but need approval before you can receive payouts, which can take a couple of days. 7 day payouts are a pain - not sure if they can reduce this once you have some volume and history with them.

Likewise, works fine for us, hate paying to take my money, but needs must.

Yes we use Stripe and currently do aboutv £20k a month in card transactions. No the 7 day layout isn't negotiable but more importantly the way they take their charges causes major headaches for accounts.
It's integrated into our job management software and unfortunately they deduct their charges before paying out each payment.
It makes reconciling the bank statements a seriously time consuming nightmare (a couple of hours a day for someone).
Just been talking to a couple of alternatives today so will be changing at the end of the month. The alternative a slightly cheaper, pay out in 48hrs and more importantly payouts are without deductions and just a single invoice to pay at the end of the month.

Use Stripe and PayPal on the website for online transactions. iZettle in the shop for in-person payments. Have no problem with any of them.

Another positive review from me. Dead easy to integrate with stuff and the UX for both developers and users is great, as is the documentation.

Nick928 are you looking st checkout.com ?
We’re not actually using stripe we’re looking to partner with them on large ecommerce projects.
If we can save a client money on card fees it will free up more marketing cash (in theory lol)

Stripe use the same model Paypal used for massive user acquisition which is let anyone sign up and trade then deal with the due diligence once the money comes in. I have had a few customers who have had 90 day restrictions added especially when we do a high profile social campaign and do decent numbers i.e 5k+ a day.

Once you do decent numbers they will offer you a better rate which is normally done on a blended basis and you do get to talk to someone on the end of a phone. If you do smaller numbers get ready for a canned email when you need real help.

Stripe were smart to do deals with almost every big hosted ecomm company i.e Shopify, Big Commerce, Selz etc which is why they have so much small biz traction

If you can code Square is a far better tool , has a great API and pay out the next day. They also have telephone support and they are super responsive to email.

Hi Lee, trust your good! We’re working with them on large clients where they are giving a great rate to make the Shopify gateway charge a bit more palatable.
We can’t get meds, vapes etc onboard nothing changed there but they are coming on scoping calls with us which has so far proved successful. For the right products and turnover they can be astonishingly cheap.
I just wanted a “users” prospective on them - they had early investment from Google and Musk, the guys who set it up are 27 and 29 !!!!!

If you’re looking for a payment provider with a more ‘liberal’ attitude to the products or services you provide, then take a look at Paysafe.

We are/we’re using Stripe which was integrated with Service M8 job management software.
We’ve signed up with Sage Pay this week so hopefully should get the changeover up and running this week.

Just had a look at Checkout.com and as many other sites they claim ‘transparent fees’ however after having read through the pricing page a few times there isn’t a straightforward list of charges.
At least Sage Page gave a table with exactly what the charges were for a given card.
That is what I would class as transparent fees.

Why don’t you create a new bank account in your accounts software called “Stripe” then assign all payments as paid to stripe account.

When the payments hit the bank do a transfer from stripe account to bank account in your accounts software.

Then once a month download a report of all the transactions in excel and add up the fees in excel and add it as a single deduction from the stripe account in your accounts software.

This is how we record £30k+ a month with hundreds of transactions. Super quick and easy.

We do like stripe, it’s easy and integrates with everything. Only thing I don’t like is no 3D Secure which would be nice to have with high value goods.

I’m not convinced about checkout.com hence we’re chummed up with Stripe.
