Does any one have any recommendations of a software package that can be used to create quotes and manage them?

Currently we do it all on Word using templates, however there must be a simpler way of filling them out and managing them?

We are a construction company, so the quotes do have to have a certain degree of detail.

Thanks

Are you looking to produce a quote from a bill of quantities?

We do a lot of work with construction companies, although our main business is with the biggest door companies in the UK - we've created software and used/integrated existing products - whatever was best for our client.

I'm not here to sell our services but if you want to speak with somebody who can give you free relevant advice, just message me with a contact or email your requirements and I will make sure you get an honest response.

Who knows, you may even end up a client smile

If you do, please don't read any of my posting history...

My company is building a bespoke software system for a business in the construction industry which does everything from capturing customer enquiries, integrating with AutoCad and Revit for drawings, generating quotations from those drawings, scheduling factory production, scheduling deliveries, GPS tracking the trucks, texting the customer, invoicing them, and integrating with Xero for accounts. It doesn't make the coffee yet but I've no doubt they'll come up with that requirement soon laugh We're 2 years in to the 6 month project which started out with a requirement like yours - they just keep coming up with more requirements... "can you just make it do this".

I've dropped you a PM, happy to chat some more.

Thanks for the replies. I think an off the shelf solution would be more suitable than a bespoke piece of software for us currently, we are only a small company.

No problem. To be honest, the size of the company is a bit irrelevant to the nature of the solution, though I'd argue that the smaller the company the more important it is to have the software doing as much as possible to streamline the workflow, remove manual typing/mistakes, improve efficiency and so on, to give staff valuable minutes back in the day to add value for your customers and improve service. Sometimes that can be achieved with purely off the shelf software. Sometimes it can be achieved with bespoke software. And sometimes (as in my example - which is for an office of 15 people) it's achieved with a hybrid of bespoke software integrating with off the shelf software.

Anyway I've PM'd you my details, if you want to provide some more details I'm happy to suggest a few ideas.

Most of the big players in the market are now cloud based. Without knowing what part of the construction industry you are in it's difficult to recommend anything. But a general pointer. If you need to produce quotations/estimates from drawings then I would look at Oncentre's Take Off and Quickbid software or ProEst.

If you are not estimating from drawings then EstimateRocket is worth a look.
