We currently use Excel as a tracker for repetitive processes we carry out but it's a bit clunky and makes it difficult to manage deadlines etc. The spreadsheet has about 25 columns with one line for each job; we probably have 30-40 jobs live at any one time. Some cells are very text heavy (records of phone calls, other notes etc)

Has anyone any suggestions for an online process management tool / tracker that might be easier to use? I've had a Google and most seem to aimed at IT companies. We just want to be able to define a process, set deadlines (which should be variable), confirm when each stage has been completed, get notifications if there's an overrun and be able to make notes as we go along. Preferably at a cost of around £20/month or less with about 4-5 users.

What industry?
My software company has built a system which does this (and more) - first customer is in the construction industry.
Would cost you a lot more than £20 a month though - Microsoft charge me more than that for the server and database!

We're a service company connected with the construction industry but we don't need bespoke mega software sorry!

£20 a month or £20 per month per user ie £80-£100 per month based on your 4-5 users?

Trello is free if you want something quite basic.
