Hi guys,

I have a very small company in central EU that's in the very early stages of development. We have just finished a marketing video which will be used for the website, displays and occasionally in our upcoming marketing campaign.

Now, after all the edits, the video comes in at 2:29.

Do you think this is too long?

In the video, I speak about what the company is, what the company does and how we do it. I also name drop other companies that we work with (references).

We provide a service and our target market is everyday people and businesses/business people. I am toying with the idea in cutting the video up and making two separate videos towards B2B and then B2C.

Thanks for any help offered! All input welcome! Much appreciated!

Seems fine...I would only watch the video if I was actually interested, and three minutes wouldn’t put me off!

Brilliant. Managed to shave off 15 seconds. I think I will split the videos up into 4 sections. People will sit through 4 videos at 30 seconds than a 2-minute video.

Thanks for the feedback there, pal.

If it holds people's attention, no. If it doesn't, yes.

I wrote and produced professional video for 15 years - if your audience is people simply wandering past (like an exhibition) it will need to be quite crash-bang-wallop. If they're a captive audience who actually want to learn something, it's entirely different.

And hopefully you have the skills to do a good job... writing, directing, filming, editing, audio...

It depends entirely on the use case.

If for social media - people have zero attention span unless its AMAZING - 30 seconds is a stretch even then.

For your own website, its ok at ~ 2 mins, but again you have to keep the interest or people will drift away.
(Use analytics to see how long people actually spend on that page)

There's nothing stopping you having multiple versions of course.
