Hi,

I've recently started a new business, and have never had to use a CRM before, and so know very little about them and what they can do. I'm looking for recommendations as to what works well.

Ideally I would like something that can import leads (typically from Facebook advertising) and be able to keep note of any contact etc with leads, then when a lead converts to a sale, have a customer database. I've read about being able to link email to this, so if they ever send emails in then the CRM stores the email in the customers 'folder'.

Also, I need a way of monitoring standing orders coming in, so I can be alerted if a payment is not made. My customers pay me on a monthly direct debit for 12 months, so I'd like to be able to automate the checking process, so I don't have to log onto online banking and cross check everything.

Thanks in advance.

Our invoicing system does this. Follows our customers through the sales process (quoting, ordering, invoicing), right through to linking up with our bank and reconciling with the accounts when the invoices have been paid.

Ours is a Swiss one because it is the only one that links with our Swiss bank so it isn't much use to you, but I know that there are much more advanced systems for a monthly fee available in the UK. Have a look at all the options like quickbooks and stuff. I am sure they will do what you want.

My accountant has been telling me I need to get this Xero thing for a while now.

I've just watched a demo video of the gocardless thing, and it looks ok, however at the moment I get customers to sign a paper standing order mandate while I'm with them, which I then send to their bank to get set up - the type of people I deal with I couldn't trust to be sent an email, click on the link, and set up the direct debit. It would just never get done. Plus I need them to be tied in to specific dates, rather then have the freedom to be able to change their dates. The rest of it looks good though so will research it more
