The last 12 months have been tough, whilst we don't trade with the EU we have seen a lot of our customers tighten up budgets and projects being put on hold. We are quite seasonal and our peak in March - September.

I don't want the next September - Feb to be as quiet as the one we have just been through so I am looking at new ideas.

I basically have a large warehouse, small offices and staff stood around. I am not averse to some kind of investment to buy stock, so I am thinking down the lines of e-commerce of some kind. We are paying quite a lot in insurance, utils, rates etc for it to basically be stood doing nothing for months.

Maybe we can do something taking advantage of the Christmas 2019 rush when we are at our quietest?

Anyone got any ideas?!

Contact local courier companies and see if they need extra space over Christmas?

Don't know if this is sensible or not, but:

I am involved in something which is about to be forced into e-trading which I'm dreading. Not least because of the need to deal with returns, and how to store them and dispose of them into secondary markets.

Most lately the purchase of a place of storage and possibly also resale has been posited. (groan)

Why don't you think about providing (renting) storage and a secondary supermarket facility for any number of e-traders to utilise to deal with their returns?

Interesting idea. The only slight issue I have with that is our warehouse is not suited to f2f transactions so would need to be e-commerce only really.

I am in a very similar situation to the OP, we have good infrastructure, space and staff but its seasonal. We currently do well in eCommerce but for the sector we are in it is seasonal.

I'm not going to roll over for the brexit worriers - if there was an international / european distribution opportunity I would be keen to consider anything even if it was hard work to make it happen.

Also would not be scared of some stock investment!
