Was just being nosy and having a look at a big vaping company. They own over 100 stores in the UK alone, so I thought OK let's see how well they are doing.

All these stores show up individually, under the same name. None of them list directors, and all of the accounts are "N/a".

Yet you can see some are over 6 years old... so how can you submit info to CH saying your company is active but not submit director names, addresses or your actual financial details?

I have been fined before for computing my financial details wrongly by the CH (income from Singapore messed up my software) so how do these companies get away with it?

You can see what I mean here https://companycheck.co.uk/search?term=Vaporized

By the looks of it the company isn't called Vaporized.

Vaporized is the trading brand. The company behind it is: CCHG Ltd.

It's also a Franchise, so the stores are all likely tiny companies with a handful if more than 1 of stores each

The Philip Morris charges are interesting, insofar as they must be directly supporting vaping at individual business level. In addition to producing products themselves.

Just out of interest, why would you choose to set up a non-limited company?

Confidentiality

If there is a group of unlimited companies, it can be easier to move capital around the group and to shareholders

Used to give US tax benefits as well. Lehman had UK unlimited companies in its structure partly for this reason.
