Integrated card terminals / EPOS

I'm installing an ePos soon on two tills, and I want integrated pin pads directly in to the till.
EposNow support this via Worldpay or PaymentSense, however I'm told the pin pads must be rented, at £25/month or £14/month respectively, on 3 year contracts. PaymentSense are cheaper but their reputation is not good.
In other words, I'm expected to pay up to £750 per pin pad over 3 years, I've seen these things on eBay far cheaper outright.
There is also the worry of having to change ePos down the line if it's no longer suitable for us, we would have to find an ePos that supports the payment provider I'll already be contracted to.
Are there any companies out there that allow you to buy the devices outright?

What works out the best/cheapest route really depends on how much you're taking on cards. There are plenty of people who'll sell you a card machine for not a lot and charge a fortune in fees, most of that sort of card machine are what I'd consider to be junk.
Paymentsense whilst a very sales oriented company do use decent hardware and renting it off them makes it their problem if it's unhappy and since they make their money from their cut of the fees if you can't take payments they will care quite a lot. Decent card machines are not cheap and having to buy a new one in two years because yours has decided to die horribly would not be fun.
