Hi

Am looking to leave an employed position and setting up on my own. It would be myself and one other person and rather than set up completely from scratch, we have an option to work as part of another company and give them a cut of all our sales. In return they cover office rent, use of the website to advertise, phones, laptops , they would do the invoicing and chasing etc so basically wouldn't cost us anything on a monthly basis.

What I'm not sure on is how things like tax works, are we classed as self employed, do we need to set up our own company who then invoice the other company?

What is the best way to pay ourselves?

Help greatly received!

That doesn’t sound like you would be self employed tbh. You’re best off speaking to an accountant to get some insured advice

You'd probably be what's called an employee.

Yes - you would just be an employee of the other company.
