China?

Sad to say, but if it's a commercially worthwhile product, manufacturing it in the UK is unlikely to be viable, these days.

People need to find you, maybe your competitors have increased their marketing?
Is this a repeat sale item ? If so hit your database.
Certainly get your website updated, if it’s just 1/2 products look at a Shopify theme, then get storetasker to set up google shopping if you want the pictures on google search.
Maybe put a few union jacks about to empathise it’s a Uk made product.

It sounds like you have a few challenges here:

1. Mobile compatibility. If your product is needed urgently, people will search on mobile as they'll be out on site perhaps. If you can't be seen online, you won't sell. You could use paid search as a temporary workaround to get on that first page.
2. Uniqueness. Is it really about price? Again, if your product is needed urgently, can you ship faster than your eBay competitor? Maybe they're not shipping from the UK so you can get the product there faster
3. eBay. Why not sell on eBay too? and Amazon? Especially if you can identify your USP and promote that. Yes, people buy on price, but a headline "(product) SAME DAY SHIPPING GUARANTEED" or something may help
4. Video. Do you have a video demonstrating the product (even if it's simple)? Relevant videos can really help search results and show up at the top. Also any other added value like how-to videos and matching articles.
5. Can you broaden the market? DIY users?

Good luck

Not sure how much I can help - the above answers seem helpful though.

Would you be willing to tell us your product and/or website OP? I’d be willing to have a look at both you and your competitors and give an unbiased opinion.

Put a link in your profile and we can take a look.

(then it doesn't look like advertising)

If I'm honest your website looks and feels a little sparse and static. I'm guessing you or a family member created this for you.

N.B. It's Achieve not Acheive (twice on the front page)

As for tail-off - I'm not so sure someone would be buying or ordering from you on a mobile device - or at least not a phone, maybe a tablet.

For me I'd like to know a price - at least to give me a ballpark figure to work with... Would it be possible to at least put a price for a 'standard' door size and then indicate that non-standard sizes would be priced on a job-by-job basis.

You seem to be selling a higher end quality piece of work but your website doesn't necessarily indicate this.

Maybe try selling on Ebay for the same price you do on your own website or at least for some standard sizes - it would cost you nothing to effectively advertise on there.

I'd sharpen up some of the photos as well - they've been taken on a slightly dated mobile phone and it shows.

I'd also go over some of the wording - it feels like you've struggled to fill the page, some of it needs to go and some more words and 'sales' type parts need to be added - more about you, how much experience you have, bringing your experience to bear on projects, etc... Why should someone pay the extra, without necessarily making them look elsewhere. Is there someone in the family who could help and help proof read it to ensure it reads well and doesn't have typos in it.

Good luck!

Don't get fixated on price, fix of quality, UK manufacture, skilled hand made manufacture. There will always be someone cheaper.

Your website is very dated though. Get a new one and spend some money on it too as you'll get it back in increased orders.

Having just moved house and looking at a kitchen refresh these are right up my street

First two things I looked for when I clicked on your site were:

1) Close ups of the construction of the doors....so I could gauge quality / finish etc....most of your pictures are small, low res images so kind of hard to tell
2) Indicative pricing

The sudden lack of leads is probably to do with a change in Google's algorithm, Google much prefers a mobile ready responsive site. I would look at rebuilding the website and ensuring you have SEO basics covered including GMB (Google my business) which is very important for search's made on mobile in the local area

My wife works in this area - I will check with her - but I think it is more than just mobile - Google punishes anything that isn't adaptive to mobile/tablet/laptop, etc

Some higher quality images of the detail.

Also consider looking at your regional facebook town groups. Some of them have "buy local" campaigns and a directory of local firms.

Our local village has one and the joiners, plumbers and electricians no longer need to advertise (but I appreciate you are more niche)

I used to work in the building trade and have purchased this type of product in the past. I would either go to one of my trusted suppliers and order from them (either by having a copy of their pricing matrix or getting a quote from them). Maybe try approaching the builder types and give them a sample and a price book or something similar. You will be surprised how many repeat orders you will get in this way.

If you're looking at the homeowner / diy market then these types of people are lazy. They will want to go to a website on their computer / phone / laptop / tablet, choose from a few drop down lists for style / width and height and get a price at the end. If the price is right they will buy. Not many people will be bothered with the hassle of emailing you their sizes, waiting for a price etc or picking up the phone.

This can be achieved with a redesign of your website and you will see a huge increase in sales.

As Towser mentions there are no details on price. If your main competitor is selling on eBay everyone knows the price or at least a ball park. You need some headline marketing quotes ‘refresh your kitchen with handmade bespoke doors from as little as £xxxx’ type thing. Likewise the above going through to google in a search wouldn’t do you any harm.

I presume this isn’t your only line of work and you’re not destined for the food bank anytime soon.

Its unfortunate to hear that you're no longer getting leads! Don't attempt to compete on price, compete on quality!

The good news is that there is a lot you can do from an SEO perspective as you currently have zero websites linking to your site (rightly or wrongly, PH will be the first!) and there is lots that can be done to optimise the content + technical aspects of the website.

The bad news is, that its difficult to find a trustworthy SEO agency or individual. I can't offer you recommendations for someone to help, but I would invest some time improving your website with guidance!

Also, have you tried phoning the trade customers and very politely enquiring why they are no longer using you? And ask for some honest feedback..

Have you found this competitor? If your customers can it can't be to hard to find out if your suspicions are true.

FYI, as I said above, I used to buy this kind of product. Here is a link to the company I used to use. They have recently been bought out and have been marketing much more aggressively, but it shows one competitor you are up against. They do a lot of vinyl wrapped doors but they do sell the bare doors like you in multiple designs

Hope it helps

The site is non-ssl which should be addressed

You have google analytics set up on it so should be able to see what the trends are in searches etc, are people still finding you but not buying, are they not finding you any more, etc The answers are in there.

Course there's more to a business than the website but if that's your main sales too I'd say it needs attention

They look good.

Maybe an email to http://www.hillsidewebsolutions.co.uk/contact-us.p... and get them to do the same for your site, OP?
