hi there, I've started my own limited company and need a business account to go with it.

Looking to find out the best business cards through the banks,
any that you people would recommend and why?

much appreciated, thank you.

If you're in the South then i would suggest Metro Bank. They are very accommodating, flexible hours and all their systems seem to work fine.

I would not recommend HSBC, there's a thread on here about them randomly closing accounts and shrugging about it. Muppets.

Bear in mind that the easier it is to open an account then the easier it is to open a scammy account.

Not HSBC or Barclays. Ancient mobile apps and inflexible procedures make them a total pain to deal with.

I was with Lloyd’s for years, but jumped ship to Starling a year ago and am very happy. My father also uses them for business and seems very happy too. Instant setup on your phone and dedicated pots so you can stash away tax due ahead of time. Thumbs up from me.

Does anyone have experience of Tide? I’ve been looking at them and they seem very cheap for business banking.

I have used Tide for the past 15 months.
Cheap as chips, all online though, so no popping in to the high street to put a cheque in.

The mobile App shows and does everything I need it to, so I have never needed to login into the online desktop or call.

Only time I needed support was when a 'payment in' got blocked, unbeknown to me the account comes with a £100k balance limit, I moved some money out, and had to ask the client if they would kindly resend the payment.

Got my limit lifted in the end, all via 'messenger' conversations through the tide app, and completing some additional qualification checks.

Thanks that’s useful info - didn’t know about the £100k cap!

I might give them the go ahead then!

I'm with metro Bank after years of HSBC charging the crap out of me. I don't mind not having interest but to be charged at the same time for 6 txns per month all online /via tranfers takes the p.
