Hi folks

I have a new client who wants to pay me in euros. Rather than take a hit from the bank each time I’m thinking to open a Euro account. Does anyone do this and can recommend anyone?

Lloyd’s seem to want to charge a lot and take me back to the dark ages with paper statements and phone banking only. Unless I apply for commercial banking and pay even more, I can’t do anything online they say. Seems bonkers to me but maybe this is how everyone does it?

Any advice appreciated.

I’ve got one with HSBC, all usual on line banking and not stupidly expensive.

They do have two different on line systems HSBCNet is the more useful one but costs more.

Revolut card is good for multiple currencies and they charge nothing to convert and their rates are as good as you can get anywhere. They also do business cards / accounts.

Definitely Revolut. Easy to set up and a doddle to use. There is a reason it's the highest rated finance app on Google Play (4.9/5).

Thanks chaps. I think TransferWise is going to be best for me. I can’t see a downside.
