I've become aware that there are now options of small online retailers to offer a "Pay later" service to consumers. Basically they do an on-the-spot credit search on the client and allow them pay either 30 days later (in the case of Klarna) or pay 25% now with 25% 2, 4 and 6 weeks later (with PartPay).

I wanted to ask if anyone running an ecommerce business has experience with either of these firms and ask what impact they felt it had and how were the company in question to deal with. Or is there a better provider out there?

Also keen to know what small merchants think of Klarna.

Currently using Divido but there was/is a flaw that allows fraud and they will not reply to any emails from us or the finance underwriters so I want to find a better outfit.

Klarna offer slice it in three as well, we’re a Klarna partner if you need a hand installing it we’re happy to do it that if we sign you on (we get a smsll bonus).

We also work with Clearpay which is worth a look.

Folks, thanks for your comment here.

As it turns out Klarna only support Magento 2.3 and above so as we're still on 1.9 we're going to have to go with PartPay. I'll post an update on this thread after Christmas with my thoughts on their offering in the hope it helps someone else.

Also, there are some pretty scary reviews from retailers about Klarna out there. I know the Internet can attract extreme views but these are all bad and the language makes me think they might be genuine https://www.merchantsavvy.co.uk/klarna-review/

Re the other suggestions comments made here:
Divido looks like the only deal with much larger organisations than the £25-30k pm we do so
Clearpay looks to be some sort of a shopping platform app; a competitor to Amazon, eBay etc and that's a whole other can of worms I'm not going to get into. One thing at a time for me but thanks for the suggestion anyway.

We coded the Clearpay app, it’s not a platform at all and is gaining traction after being bought by Afterpay, worth checking out.

Klarna are one of the fastest growing financial companies, nothing is perfect but as a growth tool particularly in fashion Klarna is virtually essential.

Unfortunately they only support Magento 2.3 and above so not a possibility for us.

Check clearpay - ask for Matt he’s pretty good.

Do you know if Klarna have any minimum requirements? I watch to ditch Divido for a few reasons and Klarna seems the best one out there right now.

I’m pretty sure you’d be ok, they do have a house limit though that might be low for you.
Give them a shout if you get nowhere I can get the agency liaison chap (Rob) to push it along.
