Just had a bemusing letter through from the ICO rambling on about how one of the companies must pay them some money to avoid them breaking our legs. They state they know where we live and what we’ve been up to and that we need to cough up the bunce to avoid Christmas being smashed up.

Bizarrely we’ve never heard from them before and the company in question is just a holding company for IHT purposes.

I guess we just tell them they are not pertinent but it all seems a bit random, almost as if they are just another clueless organisation making heavy weather of a something while being tremendously over staffed.

My understanding is that someone must have registered the business but as it wasn’t myself then I am assuming it was the accountant for some reason. It’s just going to be an annoyance attempting to unravel.

Registered with who? If you mean the ICO, isn't that what they're chasing you for - they think you need to register?

They’re chasing for the late fee not for the business to be registered.

I had one too, for a dormant Ltd.

Seems they must be desperate for cash so have compared their database against Company Houses's and issued a stty letter to all that aren't on theirs.

I completed their online form telling them to bugger off.

Oh - well have someone has registered the company that's not unreasonable.

Have you checked the register to see if the company is on it?
