In our industrial unit we have two fire extinguishers which up until ten minutes ago were annually 'serviced' by a company that charged me £155.00 a year.

I reckon I could easily replace each extinguisher for significantly less each year (not that they need replacing each year) from Screwfix or the like.

I presume there is no legal requirement to have a third party service my fire extinguishers? As long as there is a responsible adult who is the fire extinguisher monitor?

You can get “10 yr” that don’t need looking at.

Ps...Your guy who serviced yours has been pulling your pants down I think, I’ve 14 in total and get charged £90 plus vat per yr.

Blimey! Those 10 year extinguishers are the business!

The company I have been using have certainly had me over. They were charging me £60 + VAT to replace a small foam extinguisher. In addition to the annual service charge. Bloody crooks!
