car - home - business and motorcycle etc

Is this even possible - unified insurance - surely someone must be able to do an all in one?

playing devils advocate:

if that was the case, then you would end up with one insurance company.

to play devils advocate further, you would want that policy to be the most competitive for each part. but different insurers have different attitudes to risk, and classes of cover.

in reality, if you did manage to get one insurer to cover everything on one, the overall cost would be higher.

to a certain extent there is, google hiscox, Zurich Private clients, chubb masterpiece. all these will insure your motor and home on one policy......and at the other end of the market admiral will do the same.

there are "working from home policies" that cover your home and businesses that are run from it...however most of these insurers don't do stand alone motor, let alone combine it with a property policy

the best thing you can do is tidy everything up to a common renewal date

/\ This.

I insure four cars, and it's always cheaper to insure them with four different companies than one multi-car policy.

You can self insure, for everything in one hit, but you need to pay the attorney general a huge amount of money to do so.

That looks like the way to do it, if you have sufficient volume.
