Cannot register LTD because of dissolved LP

Has anyone else come across this before? I'm trying to register an LTD with Companies House but an LP of the same name is preventing this (computer says no). However, the LP has been dissolved for many years. I've asked Companies House about this and all they've said is that I can't because LP's don't have the same rules when dissolved, and therefore the name isn't available!

Has anyone overcome this, been able to get hold of the right team that can action, or perhaps even contact the previous owners of the LP for their concent?

Seems daft that a name should act any differently based on entity when closed/dissolved.
