Hi

Wanted to know if there was such a service - somewhere where we can buy insurance that would cover all our parcels that we send by courier via the big courier service companies like Parcel2Go - Interparcel etc

Their 1 by 1 insurance is expensive

short answer - yes, its called marine cargo insurance, and it can extend to cover parcels

and yes they are substantially cheaper than the couriers own cover

however they do carry an excess, so its only viable if you are generally sending higher value items

There are differences in the cover, and I'm happy to have one of my guys have a chat with you if like.

Make sure you carefully balance the cost of insurance versus the annual cost of loss.

I have dealt with several customers who get frustrated with stock losses and look to Cargo Insurance to cover them.

However, when you point out their losses through the courier are £xk a year and the insurance premium is £more with excess, it doesn't add up.

hi - thanks for this - I found a company who specialise in this regard

We would only use it for high value orders (in the thousands) - which are rare tbh

Everything else we take a balanced view - in 8 years and 28,000 parcels - only 3 have ever been lost - we just replaced them to the full satisfaction of our customers - don't want unhappy customers under any circumstances.

The item we sent out today is worth about £5,000 and its now fully insured via 3rd party

:-)

Thanks for the replies

Yes, but who are they and how much did it cost?
