Hi everyone!

I am currently in the process of creating an aviation themed e-commerce store. I'm not expecting it to make me a fortune but I'd love to have a small consistent income from it!

I was wondering if you would be able to check out the site and possibly provide a little feedback/constructive criticism?

It's targeted towards aviation enthusiasts and workers.

I need to add a few more designs and finishing touches to the site but would love to hear your thoughts!!

Thank you!

  • Works well on an iPhone at quick first glance.
  • I quite like the color scheme.
  • Make sure you use a non-07 phone number. Makes you look amateur hour.
  • You may have a problem with the name due to Aeropostale here in the US.
  • Dinner’s here - May comment more later.
ETA:

  • Blog link 404s
  • Work With Us link???
  • I like the fact that you have an address, but maybe better to use an address that isn't clearly your home address?
  • Sit down and actually re-write your policies. They sound like chinglish.
  • I think you have to accept returns on sale items. No point having stty sounding terms that are not legal [I admit I haven't been involved with eCommerce in the UK for a few years so this may have changed]
  • Are these items all made to order JIT?
  • Your size guides don't relate to the sizes you offer
  • Your cancellation policy is bonkers
  • If you abide to GDPR regs, I would mention it in your terms as I understand it's a hot topic right now
  • 3-5 day turn around is SLOW unless custom order. If custom order, make a bigger deal of it - make people feel like it's exclusive
  • If it is custom, can you offer customization of some sort?
  • If most of your clients are UK based and assuming you're shipping from the UK, get rid of the FAQ about import duties and just add it as a line to the international one. Same with customs
  • REWRITE THE TEXT!
  • Get rid of the fishy smell FAQ - if I read that, I'd go elsewhere in a shot
  • You have some SEO issues that you need to address
  • Your drop down menus move all over the place which makes it hard to use
  • You have some 404 link issues I think some links in your template needs to change?
  • Your rewards program completely baffled me
  • Add an about us
  • On a smaller screen laptop, your header bar takes up too much of the screen real estate

  • I don't like the way the home page shows some of your products:

There are only 2 real products (and a piece of paper?) here. Can you have individual designs and select which type of clothing to put it on? Different colors etc?
  • Also - quite a lot of wasted white space on the screen
  • I don't like your hoodies with your branding on them. Who's going to pay £40 to advertise your unknown clothing brand? Or is the idea to give them away at times?
  • Your bullet points don't work properly (don't feel bad - they don't on PH either!!)

I'm bored now so will stop.

Please don't take this as all negative - it's one of the better initial efforts that I've looked at for a while. The biggest concern for me would be the Aeropostale thing...

Crikey Matt send the OP an invoice !!

I assume you like flying type things? So add some lovely rich content about up in the air stuff. Google will like that.

Driving traffic to your site is hard, when they get there will they be happy? You need to pad out your range. Maybe more flying related stuff not just clothes.

Are you using an app that puts logos on models? Some shots look a bit photo shopped.

Crack on your doing well, read mr Moose’s post carefully.

Is there a reason why you used a name that is already an established company?

I’ve no idea about the legal side but could foresee problems.

I thought the same but i've done a lot of research and am confident it's okay. Two different businesses, operating in two different industries, in two different countries.

Yeah Aerothreads are already at http://www.aerothreads.com/, and unless you make a deliberate effort to type .co rather than letting autocomplete set .com the user is going to get the wrong site.
