Think mom having my chain yanked, Couple of questions if anyone who knows more about ebay has a mo ...

13th June - bought 2 brand new Powertool batteries. (Condition - new, from battery retailer)
16th June - delivered. Found to be junk. Not safe.
27th June - asked for refund. return label issued. One thing and another didn't get to PO.
14th August - return label now expired, asked seller if possible to reissue.

1. Seller claims he's paid for unused return label. (ok its on me if so but is it true?)
2. Seller says warranty now expired. True?

TIA.

Paid with PayPal? You could claim it there.

30 day return window, I think your one thing or another means you are stuck with them, unless your seller wants to refund you at your return cost.

I'm not sure why your laziness is the sellers fault to be honest. Ebay are quite clear you need to post the return within so many days. You had weeks to post them!

You missed out on your chance to return it would appear.

However, the warranty should kick in given they are junk / faulty and so surely, they’ll say you can return at your cost still: given they did already issue a label.

If it’s a proper retailer they have to honour a warranty on faulty goods.

Do you also ask questions about Tesco returns to shoppers you meet in Sainsburys?

Precisely. Seller has done fulfilled his requirements, buyer didn't.

I doubt the seller pays for the label until it's used, but hey ho. Next time try to be more efficient; it works both ways.

^ yes but ... if the product is faulty or junk and the seller is a proper retailer: they have to honour a warranty return, even if it’s down the line. The product should have a warranty on if they are new and the seller is a proper retailer.

I'm glad my post has seemingly provided a safe space for so many of you to express your loftiness, but if anyone can answer my question on ebay/post office labels thatd be super.

The seller won't be charged for the label until it has been scanned at a post office smile

Don’t know about the label but how is the warranty going to help if they’re junk?

The fault was reported to the seller within the warranty period. This would allow the OP to return the batteries under warranty for repair , replacement or refund at the seller’s choice.

The OP would need to pay for return postage on warranty, hence the question about resurrecting the return label.

So he'll pay to return them under warranty and they'll send him more junk. Doesn't really move things on.

If they're genuinely not safe, he could report to Trading Standards (if it's a UK based supplier) but good luck trying to do that.

Cheap batteries bought from eBay are dangerous ‘shocker’.
