Boiler replacement business
Discussion
I have a gas heating business in the west of Scotland.
We currently do around 3/4 boilers replacements per week generated through repairs etc.
Have tried the ratedpeople checkatrade stuff but very saturated in this area and a real race to the bottom price wise.
Looking for a reliable supplier of qualified leads we can offer finance but would prefer able to pay leads.
Really looking to ramp up to around 10 Installs per week And branch out across Edinburgh and further north.
Any tips would be much appreciated

Morning,
Have you looked to see if you can get leads for funded work from one of the schemes? Whilst these schemes are kind of coming to an end, they are still running right now.
My company is an IT company, we have developed systems and websites in this sector for installers and energy management companies. As I am not an installation company myself, I can't point you exactly in the right direction. Basically, you need to find a company working with councils and gathering leads under the ECO banner.
But this would be a good start https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/environmental-programmes/...

Thanks for the reply, staying as far away as possible from any sort of eco or scheme stuff is the plan.Have you looked to see if you can get leads for funded work from one of the schemes? Whilst these schemes are kind of coming to an end, they are still running right now.

It’s good if you got in at the start but it’s not so great now.

How good is your marketing online? I'd bet it could be improved and that could get you those extra leads
Pretty much non existent at the moment. That’s where I want to spend my money focusing on a great website - don’t have the first clue where to start with it all though!
One of my competitors seem to have it sussed!!

I have an idea for you - not sure whether you would consider it.
Do some online YouTube videos showing your boiler installs, and how you take pride in your work, and maybe teach the views a thing or two about good/bad installs. Check out skillbuilder / Allen Heart and other people like them online. You can probably do it on your smartphone but you will need to learn how to edit videos and make them look polished.
Chances are if people see your videos and they are local they'll probably give you business, since they can see the quality of your work and the fact you are online.

That website is something to aim for, but probably lots for you to do to get up to that level. In the meantime, do you have any kind of social media presence? My three mates who are respectively carpenters, bathroom installers and landscape gardeners all run very good Instagram and/or Facebook pages displaying the quality of their work. I chose my roofer in this way - he has an active Facebook page showing 'before' and 'after' on jobs he does, updated almost daily.
You would be surprised as to how much engagement there is from people with 'Another great boiler install from Mdonnelly14 Boilers, get in touch if you need us to quote". It is cheap and easy to administer but it gets people's attention and brings in a lot of business through recommendation.

Tried to send you a PM, but your account doesn't seem to allow it. I've got a web design & marketing company based in Glasgow. That sort of site is right up our street. Happy to have a chat to see if we can help with your lead gen - no obligation of course. Just send me a message through my username linkThat’s where I want to spend my money focusing on a great website - don’t have the first clue where to start with it all though!

I am almost 100% sure it was not built in house. Boiler companies don't employ web designers generally, it'll be someone managing a web company. It's a nice site and has all the main things you need but there's nothing amazing about it. You can use the ideas etc for your own. Don't be afraid of competitor sites. We compete against major nationals and have plenty of work.Social media I haven’t done as yet either as didn’t want to without a website also.
Thanks for the input much appreciated
Social media is ok if starting out but few people are going to follow or search for your SM pages.

What do you charge for landlord's gas safety certificate ?We currently do around 3/4 boilers replacements per week generated through repairs etc.
What do you charge for full installation in 1 bed flat? (combi boiler+flue+thermo + 4 rads + towel rail + pipe work + removal of old copper cylinder + debris disposal)
