We have three kids in three schools; all schools want to use Microsoft teams for socially distanced parents evenings.

The issue we are experiencing - the app can only support one account and seems impossible to seamlessly move from one child’s account to another.

Is there a fix or is it a case of logging in and out of multiple accounts?

My kids school sent an individual link for each child, I didn’t actually need to log in as anything other than a guest.

Teams doesn't support multiple accounts at the moment, but I believe it's on their roadmap to add.

Possible (if not ideal workaround) - could maybe use the web version in separate private/incognito tabs? Or 3 different browsers. Either way not great.

It's on the roadmap for December I believe, but you can just log in/out to the appropriate account.

For the puposes in the OP, a socially distanced parents evenings, would it make any difference which account was logged in to Teams? It'd just work, wouldn't it? I suppose you could appear to be the wrong sibling though.

I think this is about as best a workaround as the OP's going to get.

You shouldn't need an account, just click the join link and you can join the team as a guest using the Teams client or via a web browser. If the school have sent the invite the the pupils school teams account then they're doing it wrong smile

Just saw an announcement that switching accounts in Teams is being rolled out now.

Are they?
Its quite reasonable to send a link to the student with the expectation the student will log in with their parents

otherwise they would have to set up X number of meetings and email every student or parent the link - which is more work i suspect.

That’s what my kids school did, the parents got a link sent via email and then we clicked the link 10 minutes before the allotted time and sat in a waiting room until the teachers were ready. We did not need to log in with the link that was sent, but I believe I could have logged in on my kids account or even my own work account and the link would still be valid.

Yes

I spose its just easier to set up meetings with people already on their own internal system - otherwise you need to have a list of all the parents emails which they may or may not have

i believe if you invite someone to a meeting the link can be shared with anyone - they just end up in the waiting room and may not get admitted.
