With xmas approaching i'm trying to move away from the traditional xmas card in the post to clients etc (although have sent out some presents...).

Has anyone used a company (or done it themselves) to create a xmas card/message that can be emailed? If so how did you go about it? What do you need?

Just wondering what others do and open to any other marketing ideas to serve the same purpose.

For context this is in the construction/law industry.

Cheers

If I received a 'Merry Xmas' email from a company, even one I did business with, it would get the delete key (probably unread) along with the tens of other junk emails I get each day.

For the cost of stamp, a physical card will at least get read.

yes

Even worse if a company sends one to a shared mailbox (for example, accounts@yourcustomer.com). It smacks of laziness, and you're just spamming everyone in your email contact list.

If your clients are worth anything to you, do it properly or don't bother, I'd suggest.

My ex-boss (who has been retired for 15 years) sends people she used to work with these cards. It's a nice gesture but I think pointless if it was from company to company. Also because the cards are interactive they get trapped in a lot of corporate email firewalls

Thanks for the replies guys. Yeah I'm in agreement that this is a bit of an empty gesture.

I think if we are going down that route something like this might be better: https://www.dontsendmeacard.com/

Or we just buy smaller hampers for the less regular clients biglaugh
