It's the future, sadly. Some companies use the internet as a firewall to keep customers away. Paypal will take £9 off me soon because I have an unused account. The snag is that I can't use it or close it because there's a digit wrong in the phone number which they use for authentication. I spent a couple of hours online wading through 'FAQs' and phoning various numbers which just took you through various automatic stages ending in 'We can't help', and then I tried online chat which also ended with 'We can't help, call this number...' (which I'd already tried). I'll just write off the £9, it's easier. Writing a grumpy letter to Luxembourg helped though

We have had post over 3 weeks late recently.
Lots of it.
I've also had 3 items undelivered .
No other delivery company seems to struggle.
Just Royal Mail.
Bunch of Tossers.
I even found a dropped (small package) on my drive, addressed to next door!
How they stay in business is beyond me.
I won't order anything online now, that uses RM.
Hope you find Joy!

Just block them on your Bank Account.

I cancelled the DD - though I have another Paypal account I do use so that will get interesting eventually. Also advised my CC company in case they can take it from there. They can't block a transaction but I can dispute it afterwards and at least it's flagged now. Two weeks after 16 Dec they will close the account automatically - rather cynical that they take the £9 inactivity fee first I thought. It seems a quick cash grab that most people probably won't spot or won't bother with.Sorry OP, back to you.
I feel your pain.
I had a temp job through an agency that auto-enrolled me in the pension scheme. The account was all set up for me but even with contributions coming out of my pay, the account balance in the pension was showing zero, even after a couple of months.
Could I contact the pension company? Could I b
ks.
No phone number listed on the website, only a contact form which I filled out and was still unanswered a week later.
I had to hunt around google for a phone number just to speak to someone, eventually found a number but it just goes straight to a recorded message saying to email them. Grrrrr.
Emailed them and surprise surprise, no reply. I followed it up every few days, eventually got a response some 3 weeks after my original contact request form on the website.
It's infuriating that it was so much hassle when a phone call could have taken less than 5 minutes.

I'd find a better pension provider and transfer it to them, if you can.anonymous said:

Actually I found two different numbers but they both all ended up in the same cul-de-sac. The bloke typing in 'chat' said he couldn't fix it for me and it would have to be done manually. If Paypal can have people to type in 'chat' you'd think they could have them answering the phone instead. At the other extreme there's Scottish Power - easy to phone, but there are three different departments all seeing different tariffs and contradicting each other. One morning five e-mails arrived all with different amounts to pay!Edited by Simpo Two on Monday 14th December 18:46
