I can't get a definitive answer online from ebay or UPS or anywhere else.

This is a 'private' sale, value is £18.00. No VAT.

I have sold an item via ebay to a guy in Netherlands. I've sold to him before, always send via UPS or royal mail. I'm not using eBay Global Shipping.

What, if any, paperwork do I need to send with the item? My customer is worried about getting stung with VAT and fees at his end. I cannot find clear information, do I just send as usual via Packlink or direct with UPS? Will they generate PPW? Do I need to use a CN22 label? Do I need to add an invoice to the outside of the package?

Read any of the 60 threads currently running on the topic would be a good start.
If you cba to do that go to Parcel2go and go through the process, it won't get much simpler than that.
  • Don't forget to stop at the stage where it says 'Put your credit card numbers in here'.

Thanks, I can't actually see any threads relevant to my situation, that's why I'm asking.

So if I go through Parcels2go (which I use) they will prepare all relevant ppw? When I got a quote there was no info, just a cost.

You will have to put the tariff code in, they will generate all the paperwork.

Your customer will not be liable for VAT at present as it is under the current 22 euro lower limit. That will change in July.

Thanks, yes I did see that items under 22 Euro did not attract VAT, didn't know this was ending in July.

I've gone with UPS through Packlink via Ebay website as it was cheaper and easy. Once paid, they had a link to download a two page customs form, which I filled out and will send with an invoice on the side of the box.

Yes, form asked for a tariff code, nothing relevant to my item so I've gone a close as possible. Fingers crossed it does not get stuck
