Does anyone know if it's possible to obtain Directors & Officers insurance for a new business? So far, two insurers have told me that I require 12 months trading before they would sell me this insurance. How can a new business buy D&O insurance?

The real answer is "it depends" - largely on what the business does, the people involved, how it's funded etc. Some insurers will want 12 months' trading history so they can see a proper set of accounts as that's how they rate the risk.

I'm an independent Professional Indemnity and D&O broker. Feel free to drop me a PM with your contact details. Happy to chat through.

ETA: Believe it may have been you querying Professional Indemnity Insurance a short while ago too Mr Peanut? If so, you may already have my contact info in your messages.thumbup
