Hi, I'm in the process of trying to buy a unit and Im wondering what recommendations people would give for insurance companies to provide buildings and contents insurance. I will be looking to get public liability cover too, I think they are often combined.

What Im looking to cover is a small unit approx 1000sqft plus small yard and it will have typical motor trade equipment in it- toolboxes, tools, ramp, compressor, tyre machine, press as well as some wood working tools- Dewalt cordless gear, table saw, chop saw etc. There will also be several thousand pounds worth of materials to cover.

I plan on fitting CCTV and one of the Yale smart alarm things as a minimum. Im not sure insurance even consider them an alarm?

Is there any constructive advice or insurance company you would recommend?

Thanks.

I use Champion Insurance Brokers near Manchester.

Find them excellent.
