Does anyone have a clue what on earth is going on with this? HMRC guidance is a clear as mud!

Basically you need to register if you are selling a significant amount of goods to Europe under 150euros
You will need to register with a company based in Europe who will take on the risk, and pay your VAT to the EU (have a look at euify.eu). You pay them a monthly fee for the priviledge.

Moving forward you then sell the goods with VAT included, send the goods duties paid and they will not go through customs.
Payments to the EU are monthly.

I had to go through all my EU sales and basically concluded we did not do enough to warrant the costs. Most of our goods are over the threshhold so have to go through customs (with the fees) so we actually have stopped smaller orders to the EU as its in our customers best interests to spend more.

Talk to ship24.com we decided to register last week and received our ioss number in less than a day AND their pricing is less than 1/2 of anyone else we researched.

If you are sending goods valued at mostly over €150 then it has to go through customs as mentioned.

Do you still charge the customer UK VAT on your ecommerce sale?
