Hi , i want to start Part time trade from my home , I got full time job but lots of spare time , I have touareg 2013 and 2700kg car transporter. I just passed b+e trailer test.So I want to start as a sole trader , buy part time trader insurance , apply for a trade plates and start business.Do I need any other things to do , cause im planning to search for cars and bring them on my own car transporter.
Trade insurance will cover cars during the transport on the trailer ?

Second thing , when I will get experience with towing the trailer I want to start transport cars as well. Then I will need extra insurance for cars which im transporting.

Question is if I will need an operators licence and tacho for it if I will be doing it maybe few times a month?

Any other advices?

Thanks for answers.

No trailer cover on trade policies
As part time your going to struggle to get a decent trader policy ( find a broker who does trade cover they will put your details to Covea Tradex etc .

Trade plates you need to show you are a business when you apply.
Trade insurance will also want proof you a genuinely trading ( probably will ask for proof of you make a claim not when you buy the policy).

You can get cover for vehicle collection delivery that might cover trailers but costs more to cover the car on the trailer .
