To all the expert eBay sellers here, is the title possible? We would like to sell a product that is £xxx amount now and £xx per month for at least 12 months (one if for hardware, the other for software). Any help is appreciated!

Although I wouldn't claim to be a total Ebay expert, I've been selling on the site since 1999 so can maybe help.

The key thing to remember is that Ebay want their % fees on the full "item" you're selling, not a % of a %, so they're not interested in just getting their cut out of your first (hardware) month if you are also declaring on the listing that extra payments (outwith Ebay) are needed (this would probably get your listing cancelled or worse).

They also make it tricky for you to view contact details (I don't think there's any visibility on email addresses now) and now also limit some user-to-user messaging. Basically, you'll either have to sell the hardware alone, then rely on a separate (non-ebay) customer signup......or......list the hardware plus year's software as a package deal

If your sale is for "hardware plus 12 months software" it sounds like you'd be OK, as you're posting the customer something physical and can include in the package any relevant sign-up details outwith Ebay's limited contact framework. In general this sounds like it would be a subscription but with a single up-front payment via Ebay's payment processing
