Here's the story.

Dry Cleaners damaged one of vexy's suit jackets and a very nice summer dress. She returned them three weeks ago and has chased for an up date every week.

The dry cleaners have had the dreee assessed and the independant has said it is not a manufacturering fault and would be difficult to repair.

This week they have said that they can probably get the dress repaired for £35 but he has had it for 3 weeks and nothing has been done to it.

They also can't find any buttons to match the ones damaged on the suit jacket.

It is only small money, but we really don't want them to get away with it, so from a citzens advice / legal stance where do we stand?

IMO they have a duty of care of our garments, we have given them resenable time to sort it which has not happend.

What are the 'correct / legal' words we need to use to get him to pay for a new dress, buttons and hassel of finding and of course refunding the dry cleaning cost!

No idea on the legal standing but the majority of dry cleaners have a disclaimer saying they cannot be held responsible to damage to buttons, zips etc.

Like I say, no idea if this has any legal standing (I suspect not)...

Well, we argued effectively

He has agreed to £90, happy with this 'cause it buys Vexy her replacement dress.
