Pop up ‘shops’
Discussion
Hey all,
Are there any companies out there who can help us establish 40-50 pop up retail locations across the UK over the space of a few months:
- 400 to 1000 square foot
- secondary retail/high street locations
- minimal/rolling month leases
- minimal fit out/signage - budget about £10k-20k per site
Essentially looking to see if this can be outsourced as we need to do this quite quickly. Anyone done something similar?
Thanks

Use a commercial agency (probably national) which have retail specialist, like JLL, CBRE, Colliers, Savills et al.
Or employ directly (probably 2-3 covering different regions) acquisitions surveyors under a acquisition manager. These are specialist surveyors who acquire land/property for developers, retailers, business etc. Such as co-op, Costa have acquisition surveyors. Also some work freelance (which I do currently for a local authority) who work on contract or fee basis per acquisition.
Strategy from an agency will likely be initially tapping up their regional agents and seeing whats about in their own network/portfolio and taking out adverts in the Estates Gazette with your requirements with finder fees etc, but depends on your budgets.
Edit: if you well-backed and need it done quick you’ll want an element of both. Someone atleast your end property-cognate who can deal with the agency/asset management and field direct enquiries from owners or acquisitions surveyors if you can pay finders fees.
