Lets say an exhibition/market hosts an event.

Business A pays X amount to sponsor said 'event'. The sponsorship includes advertising, logo on website etc etc, but also Business A advises the host not to allow business C to come as it's their main competitor. Business B, D, F are welcome as they're not big enough to pose a threat, but don't allow business C to come.

Is that illegal in any way? Basically paying for your competitor not to be allowed in to the event?

Private event , organisers can do what they like , Ive seen visitors turned away because the organiser doesn’t want them there so I’m sure they can turn exhibitors away.
Turn up in a sign written van outside that venue, hand out flyers to people coming in and going out , get a free show and watch the organisers go mad when they find our smile

Not sure if the legalities, however, if I were the organiser then Business A would not be welcome due to their business ethics.

It's what most of the sponsors of big sporting events do...as well as kit suppliers for football.
