I need to get some petrol cards for some of the blokes that work for me.

Does anyone have any experience with this? What is the best option? Do you just get a card for a particular company or for all of them?

Are there any other benefits to using Petrol cards? I could get them credit cards I suppose but the idea of potential abuse doesn't really appeal to me.

Thanks

Credit Cards are a better option really.

If you get a petrol card, the drivers are then restricted to a particular brand which in some areas is not easy. Shell, for instance, is not that prolific in my area but it is in others.

Providing you include clauses in contracts and monitor spend, CCs are fine. Petrol cards are as much open to abuse anyway - a tank for the van and a few cans for the wife!!

Not so!

We are issued with 'All Star' fuel cards at work, which are just valid for fuel and oil, but can be used at any petrol station, like a credit card...at least I've never had mine refused!

AFAIK, they can be linked to a specic vehicle registration number, or can be valid for any vehicle, and can optionally log mileage at each refill.

There is a website address printed on the card, if it helps: www.allstarfuelcards.co.uk

They must work well - I had one of those in 1988!
