Going to the States at the end of August on business.

Last time I went there was in '91 when I got a ticket for....driving on the wrong side of the road!! (very momenteraly but unfortunatley watched by a traffic cop!!) :paperbag:

Got a $40 dollar fine which I never actually paid. I did honestly forget about it.

Never heard anything more about it.

Question is, when I go in a few weeks, is it still likely to be on their system when I get to immigration? (I'm going to a different State).

Don't sweat at all....

I'm quite proud of my collection of US traffic citations. I've been about 10 times and just done (last month) Route 66 from Chicago to LA. I've never been questioned about previous offences.

Be very, very, careful. A business friend of mine was in the same position as you last year (unpaid parking fine I think). He was arested at the airport and transfered to a
jail of some description. There he was humiliated and thrown into a cage with 40 - 50 very dodgy looking characters. The cops deliberately made him wear his Rolex and keep his walet on him. He was treated as you might expect - spat on pushed around and threatened. It took a couple of days to sort out & he had a thoroughly awful experience. His story made it in to the papers/TV etc.

Odly enough he had been to the states lots of times since his parking fine & had no bother. Guess it depends on who is having a bad day!

Good luck
