Anyone deal with clothing?

I'm currently looking into the feasibility of following up a recent idea which invloves clothing retail - an area I know little about.

I'm particularly keen to understand the best way to source manufacturers/importers/suppliers and how much, if any, control a company can have over the products they buy.

Obviously I'm not asking for a contacts list (although feel free to email me one if you wish ;) ). I'm more interested at this stage in just an overvew of where to go for information, any industry bodies, that sort of thing.
