Anyone used the royal mails business services for sending mailshots? Are they any good?

I want the cheapest & quickest option possible for sending 5-10k of flyers / brochures etc on a regular basis.

I don’t trust the quality of data from all these companies that say they can do it your behalf.

Not used Royal Mail, but have heard so-so stories.

If you are just sending flyers then your local leaflet distribution company will be cheapest, assuming you want local business, of course.

What data are you trying to obtain. Do you need demographic information? Consumer purchasers? Businesses?

Forget demographic info, consumer purchasers are usually the most expensive, business listings CAN be rented, but probably better to compile your own from all the yellow pages info - it's more time consuming, but you'll get a better understanding of your market, and you can mail it as often as you like!!!

And you're right, thos companies that do it on your behalf will just send out your info (along with a whole heap of other useless crap) to the cheapest lists they can find. Money down the drain...

Hi Jamie, we use Royal mail every day and send between £100/£150K per month worth of postage per month on behalf of our clients....
For 5K - 10K items, using mailsort 3 service and barcode, you will expect to pay around £0.13 - £0.14 pence per item depending of database.
If the mail was going to a city or a concentrated area, we can also do hand delivery which is usualy about £0.10 - £0.11p per item
Please email me if you would like any further information or a full quote on the project.
