eCommerce PPC Agency Advice
Discussion
Currently I manage the PPC for my business, I had for past two years been using a small one-man band as back up support and he took over the campaigns however it didn't work out too well due to some feed mismanagement issues and I think he was a little bit out of his depth.
I've been working on it but think it's time to hand it over to professionals as, whilst I'm not too bad at it, I admittedly have no real strategy and am struggling to scale past the levels we're currently at.
We only spend about £5-8k per month so pretty small but our industry is quite competitive and margins are typically only 25-30% with a low CLTV so ROAS is particularly important.
There are loads of agencies out there though and I've never used a "proper" one.
Has anyone any experience? Good idea? bad idea? What do I need to look out for and avoid?

The reality of an agency at your level of spend, is you'll get a junior managing your account at a day rate of something like £700.
They will also be under immense pressure from Google to use all their AI automations, which I suspect won't give a great result for your niche business as volumes are too small (assuming its the one in your profile).
So my recommendation would be to find an independent contractor with a track record and preferably an interest/understanding of your product range. You're likely to get better value for money.
I do a lot of PPC work but not in your space, not sure I'd know where to start on ecommerce!

This isn't true for all agencies. For London agencies maybe....They will also be under immense pressure from Google to use all their AI automations, which I suspect won't give a great result for your niche business as volumes are too small (assuming its the one in your profile).

I own what I hope would be considered a "Proper" agency we do PPC for both Lead Gen and Ecom.
The part about Google automations is pushed on us is true but our account managers at google now know not to bother with the chat.
Big changes in PPC this year as always such as expanded text ads going and performance max taking over smart shopping.
Ping me a message if you want to speak to myself or would like me to get my PPC manager to look at your setup.
