Asset management QR coding spaces

Currently on the look out for a decent Asset Management software - one of our directors has put a thought forward about potentially QR coding each room, or space and then we’d have a neat inventory of spaces within our buildings.

We would then like to tie that QR inventory to a break down of assets within that room.

Is this a thing? Any recommendations?

I was in hospital recently and noticed that all of the rooms there were coded so there must be a system for this but I’m struggling with finding anything.

Look into Shire System (formerly Pirana). Lot of Engineering stores use it and the demo I tried had hospitals in the test data.

My friends company, which is a large FM company has been doing it for years. Quite possibly lead the way on this as they are known to be disruptive in the industry. They did it all with their own bespoke coding. My company helped them write parts of it.

If you need individual anti tamper stickers or metal plates with individual QR codes that’s one of the things we do at work , just running 3000 labels in 3M material that are going to a local authority to stick on every single fire door they have.
