MySQL Licensing question pls help

Hi,

Does anyone here use or know anyone in the software industry who uses MySQL as a database solution that connects with VB/windows apps via the internet?

I want to connect various customers VB apps which I have written to MySQL on my server. I intend to buy a commercial MySQL license for the server which from how I understand it will enable me to include the MySQL driver connection stuff within my apps, so they can connect to my licensed server and access the databases stored there.

They have in emails confirmed this to me, but my friend also emailed them, but got different responses. Basically their licensing is SUPER confusing!!!

If anyone reading this can help I would be exceedingly grateful.

My main questions are (which MySQL sales don’t seam to be able to answer straight) are…

Is the server license enough to cover all my apps and let them connect to that licensed server over the internet, and allow me to include the driver stuff so the apps can make the connection and utilise the licensed database server?

If not, do I have to pay per installation/distribution that includes their driver?
