Who are our resident VoiP Telephone specialists.

I have a rather interesting requirement, that I am sure can be served with a distributed VoiP system, but need to get ideas on handsets and connectivity.

This also has very real potential to be big.

Comment here or drop me a PM.

Last time I looked (converting a physical office based call centre to fully WFH call centre at the start of lockdown) there was nothing I could't do with a hosted VoIP system that i could do with a in house phsyical system.

so what ever your question the answer is very probably "yes"

Simon_harris is correct, likely the answer is "yes"

The detail devil here would help to point toward fully 'public' cloud or some sort of provisioning system or a softphone appllication. How intelligent call routing / precence needs to be is also a factor in the detail of a solution.

over a number of years, we have used voipfone to provide our VOIP service - not only has it been flawless and very good value during that time, the company has always been very helpful - so it might be worth picking up the (voip) phone to them?

Thanks all.

I am confident it can be done, it just needs to be the right pack / combo / solution.

I guess i am looking for a white lable service with full remote control, set up and management

Depends how in depth you want to get. For off the shelf, 3cx is pretty good - we buy from gradwell.

We run a cloud hosted 3CX system across 10 factory sites and for various home users. About 300 users in all. Works well and is flexible.

With the wider availability of FTTP now, landlines are not required for internet connections.

Is there a 'safe' platform to be able to port residential landlines too for elderly relatives that have said particular landline numbers for decades. It would be nice to retain them. By 'safe', I mean the ability to safely hold the number somewhere and port from provider to provider without being held over a barrel by them 'owning' the number.
