After watching the afgan war the currency dipped, then came back up again, I figured the same would happen with the dinar considering:

565.00 GBP United Kingdom Pounds = 1,490,265.88 IQD
Iraq Dinars

At one stage a dinar was worth £1.60.

N.B. Also seen this on ebay, so otheres have jumped on the band wagon.

Is it worth the investment of say £1000 just in case it does ever go back up.

Don't need telling that if you can afford to lose it crap as I already know that.

Not worth it IMHO, the bid offer spread will be horrible so you'd need it to rise a load before you could even break even.

Chances are the dinar will be devauled and rebased at something more appropriate.

i bought £300 worth, but purely as a gamble.

dont look on it as an investment. there is way way too much instability and uncertainty but it is highly unliikely to be replaced and imho values will rise but not for 5-10 years minimum.

if you can afford to throw away £1000 then do it but view it in a way you just lost it on a horse race because no one knows for sure what will happen.
