Just had them in trying to flog me a service.

I have never used them but wondered about the population at large.

Do any of you pay to be listed, is it worthwhile?

Do any of you use kellysearch and if so do you rate the results?

Thanks

I have tried all sorts of these directories over the last 10 years and have to say that I am pretty jaded and cynical about them producing a result. The only print directory I use now is Yellow Pages, and the jury is out even on that at the moment, although that might be down to the economy.

Personally we don't pay to use them anymore as the results were poor - we're into sales & marketing recruitment. I think they are better for more traditional manufactured parts / raw materials etc.
We get a pretty good return from yell.com & yellow pages & the only other web based directory that works for us is www.applegate.co.uk, it does have an IT section but I'm afraid I don't really know how useful these are for IT services.

We get a few hits from Kellysearch, but mostly from businesses trying to flog us something rather than the other way round (which is the way I'd like it).

I'd say that an enhanced listing would be worth it if acquiring just one new customer could potentially lead to a huge increase in business for you, if you don't have that sort of business then I'd give it a miss.

I've used it for sourcing stuff in the past, so I do think it is worth being present and available in their site.

i landed a research job this summer and used Kellysearch all the time, it proved very useful. In my final report about 60% of the companies covered were sourced from the web site.

An expensive option IMHO. The 1st year we had a 'basic' option with them - no reliable sales. the 2nd year (based around a good selling job telling me they'd give 1/4ly feed back etc on quality of hits) I have had an increase in Chinese/Brazilian Fellas trying to flog me stuff, still no decent sales. I won't be spending money with these guys again.
I did use them today to find a particular product....The web page provided was not even owned by the company I wanted to contact.
