Will possibly be better than Tesco, luckily they are using Mirakl which saves learning and integrating new software.

It’s a way off yet but I think they’ll aim for September, get your application in.

What do you think the chance of it working out well are?

B&Q made a hash of it imo, but their website was pretty terrible to begin with. Whereas Argos is currently a pretty good experience and well integrated with click and collect etc.

B&Q don’t differentiate between in house and 3rd party, it’s a mess.
Tesco are a hard platform because of payment delays if Argos expedite payments it’s catnip for benefit demographic buyers.

I’m eyeing it for a cheap jewellery client.

Whenever a retailer does this, it just makes me want to avoid using them .

If they can do it by offering same day or next day collection from an Argos or Sainsbugs store, then it will work and integrate just fine with the current Argos model which many people like for the convenience factor. If it's only going to be for delivery then it will fail because there are 3,000,000 other online retailers that can offer the same for usually less. The reason people use Argos is for the convenience to collect their item, and return it back if it goes faulty. If they can't offer that for their "marketplace" then it's a complete waste of time as everyone will just go to Amazon and Ebay, which is exactly why Tesco and B&Qs offerings have completely failed.

Same here.

Although its fairly unobtrusive on Tesco, I'd still turn it off in an instant if there was a setting to do so

To expand on my previous comment...

Ebay I am fine with as it is explicitly a marketplace not a shop.

Amazon works as the vast majority of items are fulfilled by amazon.

Mixed retail/marketplace are a shower of st as you aren't getting one thing or the other

Sainsbury's are just in the process of selling the Argos credit and store card business to New Day. So enhanced market place AND enhanced finance options too.
