is there any good cheap software to distribute/build marketing emails and mailing lists?

Should be fairly simple to knock something up which will do it, depending on the level of automation and complexity of data required.

I've used [url=http://tincan.co.uk/phplist]phpList[/url] extensively - and it's very good. It allows you to set up subscribe/unsubscribe pages on your Web site, you can manage multiple lists, send mails in batches etc.
